Five years ago today I went on a first date with a crazy, wonderful redhead. We are still kind of on that first date. I hope we have many many more years ahead of us.
So we tried some muscadine wine at a local vineyard. One I tried was the “Texas Joe” red table wine with cayenne pepper. It was surprisingly delicious. I bought a bottle of that.

Me at wine tasting, yep that’s red, that’s red too, harsher red, smoother red, no I don’t want white thanks. Goes to Whole Foods and gets cheap Three Wishes wine for cooking, ends up drinking some, yep that’s red.

This place specialized in berry and muscadine wines. Sweet stuff that doesn’t really taste like wine. He had a peach sangria that was damned delicious. None of the pretentious “notes of oak and earth with a crisp berry finish” bullshit. Just sweet, fresh, fortified wines. I bought a bottle of cayenne pepper table wine that was delicious.

My aunt makes blackberry cordial and it’s pretty powerful, but smooth. I was thinking of using her recipe with elderberry. I haven’t really had anything else.

“And this type of wine is called red. You can tell by the redness."
